THE JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT PUGET SOUND BUSINESS HALL OF FAME celebrates the accomplishments of individuals who have made a lasting impact on this region’s business and society. Since 1987, over 100 laureates have been inducted into the local Hall of Fame. The premier annual event also celebrates the continuing success of Junior Achievement in improving the quality of young people’s lives by sharing the opportunities of free enterprise.
THE BUSINESS HALL OF FAME was held on THURSDAY, MARCH 21, 2013 at the world class Seattle Waterfront Marriott.
THE 2013 PUGET SOUND BUSINESS HALL OF FAME: The 2013 Laureates are Bill Ayer, who headed the dynamic leadership team that grew Alaska Airlines/Horizon Airlines to a legendary national and international carrier; Tom Cable and Woody Howse, pioneers in Seattle’s venture capital community who shaped Seattle’s bio-tech industry; Mike Flynn, who transformed the small business weekly into a regional leader for business news and business connections; and Gary Oakland, a leader in the Credit Union movement who grew BECU into the nation's fourth-largest credit union. Each laureate represents business excellence, character, vision, and innovation, qualities that exemplify the spirit of the Northwest. The 2013 laureate nominees have been selected by an independent committee chaired by Puget Sound Business Journal’s Publisher Gordon Prouty.
