Junior Achievement will identify and train a volunteer to deliver the JA program your class(es). Do you have any recommendations (parents, specific requests or current business partners) to serve as your JA volunteer(s)?

The Elementary School Program is designed to show students the relevance of education to their roles as individuals, workers, and consumers, as well as prepare them for secondary school and lifelong learning. There are 5 lessons at each grade level, taught by a community volunteer. JA programs are offered at no cost to the school and require 3-6 hours of class time.
Kindergarten: Ourselves — Through a storybook and related activities, students learn about how working earns money, the value of money, teamwork and consumer choices.
1st Grade: Our Families — Students learn about the role of families in the local economy, jobs held by family members, their family's economic needs and wants, and how working together makes a community a better place to live.
2nd Grade: Our Community — Students learn what a community is, the role of the government in the community, production methods, group decision making and basic banking activities.
3rd Grade: Our City — Students explore career options through fun activities in construction, city planning, journalism, restaurant management, and banking.
4th Grade: Our Region — Students explore states' resouces, identify solutions to a business problem, look at business income and expenses, and learn what it would be like to run their own business.
5th Grade: Our Nation — Students learn the free enterprise concepts of organization, management, production, marketing and sales. Activities include job applications and interviews, unit and mass production, and advertising strategies.
JA BizTown — 4th , 5th, or 6th Grade: JA BizTown (Capstone program) A simulated community where students assume the roles of workers and consumers following a series of classroom activities about business and jobs. Please note: This program is taught by a classroom teacher. Parents volunteer for the site visit at JA BizTown in Auburn.
6th Grade: JA Global Marketplace — Students learn about resources from different countries, why nations trade with one another, the definition of an import and export, and foreign currency exchange rates.
